Pre Test Air Tightness Testing Kits

Buildings can be tested during construction to determine whether they will pass their final air tightness test. A Retrotec test kit is a flexible and cost-effective solution for calculating the air tightness of a building. If the building has not met, or is close to, its design air permeability, the fan system can be used to locate leakages so that corrective work can be undertaken. Doing this increases the likelihood that the building will pass its final air tightness test first time.

The Q46 and Q4E make air leakage testing quick, simple and effective. The compact and portable design facilitates transportation and eliminates concerns about site restrictions and problems with vehicle access. The cloth door kits comprise an easily assembled aluminium frame with extension cams that compress it into the doorway, trapping the cloth membrane in the process and sealing the opening effectively without the need for tape. The Q46 and Q4E are available for either 110V and 230V electrical supply or a combination of the two (3000 series fans only). Both can be left running continuously, a significant benefit for smoke pencil diagnosis.
