Display Energy Certificates (DECs)
All public buildings with a total useful floor area greater than 1000m2 must display a Display Energy Certificate (DEC). As the first company ever to lodge a live DEC, Stroma is ideally placed to assist public buildings in complying with this requirement of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
We have worked with local authorities, sovereign wealth funds, government ministries and the parliamentary estate, delivering both energy assessments and advice.
Our accredited energy assessors conduct the assessment, perform the necessary calculations and lodge the DEC and accompanying Advisory Report. Moreover, we can identify and implement appropriate improvement strategies.
DECs have even greater significance for organisations who are subject to the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme. Only by ascertaining actual energy consumption, via a DEC, can such organisations begin monitoring and managing consumption and in doing so, calculate the exact reductions achieved in terms of both carbon emissions and energy costs. We provide complementary carbon reduction consultancy to assist organisations in using the DEC as a springboard for meeting targets under the CRC.
With accredited assessors located across the UK, Stroma can offer nationwide coverage and fast turnaround, all at competitive fees.
