Provides all testing, calculations and consultancy required for compliance with Building Regulations Part L and Part E and delivers a comprehensive range of energy assessments whether for new build developments, existing building stock or refurbishment projects, providing the necessary calculations, renewable technology consultancy and reports to assist organisations in measuring, monitoring and managing their energy consumption and carbon emissions

Air Conditioning Inspector/Energy Assessor (remote)
Main Purpose of the Role
- To undertake Energy Assessment for production of EPCs and TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections (ACIs) reports into existing non-domestic buildings
- Assisting the internal Energy / Compliance consulting team with energy assessment for new non-domestic buildings
Key Tasks
- Responsible for carrying out all site inspections and associated energy assessment/reporting for compliance certification in line with company quality standards.
- Responsible for lodgement of legislative certificates
Responsible for:
- Liaising with site agents, building managers, clients and colleagues
- Effective management of time with regard to remote working and completion of inspection reports and energy assessment.
- Safe transportation and suitable management of required inspection equipment.
- Carrying out inspections and modelling in accordance with CIBSE TM44:2012, and other associated relevant standards.
- Interpreting and evaluating results during inspection and effective written reporting of opinions and interpretations during and after inspection.
- Report writing
- Provision of additional support using IES
software (or alternative as required) for energy assessment within the Consultancy team.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required
- Qualification in provision of Energy Assessment for Non-Domestic Buildings to Level 4 standard desired.
- Qualification in Air Conditioning Inspections to Level 4 desired
- Excellent diagnostic and report writing skills
- Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and Microsoft Office
- Existing knowledge of Building Regulations or construction industry guidelines, TM44:2012 methodology and EPBD regulations.
- Competency (proved by examination) in the use of either IES
or Design Builder energy modelling software. - Experience in the production of TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections for all types of central and packaged systems.
- Experience in the delivery of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for non-domestic buildings across a range of sectors and building types.
- Membership of relevant institute preferred.
- Ability to undertake additional relevant learning alongside current duties to ensure broad knowledge of new technologies, legislation and opportunities.

Building Thermographer
Job Description
To undertake thermographic surveys of buildings on site for the purpose of identifying any thermal anomolies in the building fabric that might be attributable to inconsistancies in insulation, air-leakage, water ingress, etc. The role includes gathering IR (and matching photographic) images from site, and then performing the required analysis and diagnosis required for the production of a quality report containing all of this material. The role is home based, and therefore requires the holder to be able to work remotely and be drive to/from site in a company vehicle. They also need to be willing and able to work on construction sites, sometimes at night, and on occassion at height. The role will also entend, with training, to the complimentary discipline of air-tightness testing, in order to maintain utilisation.
Desired Skills & Experience
We require candidates that can demonstrate experience and qualifications that are conducive to the above job description. Ideally ITC level 2 qualified, along with a demonstrable understanding of building anatomy. The ability to generate quality reports (using bespoke software) is also a prerequisite along with good customer handling skills and teamworking ability.
Energy & Sustainability Consultant
PRIMARY:
- To undertake Energy Assessment for compliance with Part L2 Building Regulations compliance, renewable energy feasibility assessment (including planning statements), energy/sustainability consultancy for existing buildings, use of IES <Virtual Environment> modelling software.
SUPPLEMENTARY:
- Assisting the external Energy Assessment team with energy assessment for existing non-domestic buildings, including Air Conditioning Inspections (ACIs), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) & Display Energy Certificates (DECs)
- Development of integration of Revit BIM platform into the business practices
Key Tasks
- Responsible for undertaking assessment and providing consultative advice to Clients, design team members, contractors and sub-contractors in relation to Part L2 Building Regulations Compliance, planning assistance and feasibility assessments, overheating/internal comfort assessment and other related thermal modelling works
- Provision of written reports detailing works undertaken and outlining any required advice to meet objectives and targets

- Relevant academic qualifications in energy, sustainability or engineering field
- Excellent diagnostic and report writing skills
- Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of spread sheets, databases and Microsoft Office & AutoCAD (Sketch-up also desirable)
- Expert working knowledge and experience of relevant legislation including ADL2A (2006 & 2010) and other standard industry guidance documents
- Ability to undertake additional relevant learning alongside current duties to ensure broad knowledge of new technologies, legislation and opportunities
- Experience of design team meetings and ability to present verbally to clients, team members, and internal staff
DESIRABLE:

Software Developer
Job Description
Stroma Certification are recruiting a Microsoft .NET developer to join the in house software development team, working alongside energy assessors and auditors to deliver and maintain core modules for Stroma’s internal and customer facing systems.
As a passionate and committed Microsoft .NET developer you will be involved in:
- Design, development and maintenance of our various software applications
- Supporting energy assessors and auditing teams by enhancing the current offering of internal auditing software
- Developing and improving the application of evolving web standards to our systems
- Understanding and improving the response time of our applications, especially where we have communication dependencies on external systems
Desired Skills & Experience
- Highly self-motivated
- Essential – Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft .NET technologies including ASP.NET, VB.NET
- Preferable - Web development technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, XML.
