Stroma Built Environment supports clients with Part L photographic evidence compliance, streamlining photo capturing and recording processes, BREL report production, and EPCs. We work with AutoBREL as standard but can assist with any other solutions if required.

Part L Building Regulations

Part L of the UK Building Regulations specifies that all new dwellings, or renovations to existing dwellings, should be built to improve the conservation of fuel and power. This standard is at the forefront of the UK’s net zero by 2050 target, which aims for a significant reduction of our built environment’s carbon emissions.

Alongside a signed Buildings Regulations England Part L (BREL) report, photographic evidence is now mandatory for compliance – providing indisputable proof that all new developments meet the stringent energy efficiency standards set out in Part L.

Part L photographic evidence is required at every critical stage of construction for all plots on a development site, ensuring each detail aligns with the UK’s environmental objectives. The BREL report and collection of photographs must then be submitted to an SAP assessor for review and sign-off.

Our Part L Photographic Evidence Services

Stroma has partnered with AutoBREL to provide a market-leading solution that streamlines Part L photographic evidence compliance processes for our clients.

AutoBREL offers an easy-to-use application for presenting geographical site details, onto which users can submit captured corresponding photographs via their mobile device. The app lists the plots and indicates progress as images are recorded live on-site.

Throughout the process, our specialists can provide ongoing feedback to confirm your photographs are suitable for submission. Once the site has been completed, we will organise and produce a BREL report, EPC, and document containing all the image files in accordance with Part L.

AutoBREL: Key Features

AutoBREL enables our clients to manage their site details via a convenient mobile app, with secure login features and individual authorisation for specific staff. On the main dashboard, users can easily start projects and assign them to on-site personnel to capture the necessary photographs.

Images can then be remotely reviewed, approved, or rejected with the addition of comments to ensure the correct photographs have been collected to support compliance. Finalised files can be downloaded or stored in the dashboard to provide backup data for future use.
